In this Literature Circle Cafe presentation( book tasting), students will sample a variety of books across genres. As the teacher, you will be provided a table of contents and additional notes to guide your students through the book-tasting experience. Having the books scattered throughout your classroom will expose students to diverse literature and authors. I also like to do this activity in groups which will promote healthy academic discussion and classroom engagement. Throughout the tasting, students will examine:
- Front covers
- Author
- Genre of the book
- Dive into the first three to five pages
- Have access to a book-tasting menu
Each step will aid your students in sampling each book before committing to their novel.
